01 — The company

Sixteen years of supplying the things that keep plants running.

Southern King Trading Pte Ltd was incorporated in January 2010 as a limited liability company under the Singapore Companies Act. We began as a general trading company, mainly importing and supplying machinery together with mechanical and electrical items, in response to steady demand from across the region.

In the early years our work centred on large-scale industrial projects, factories and manufacturing plants. The business grew quickly from there, and that growth reflects a commitment to improvement we have carried since the first year.

We continue to grow while contributing to the society we operate in, working on principles we do not treat as decoration: harmony, honesty, fairness, integrity, trust and respect.

03 — Workshop & repair

Supply is where we start, not where we stop.

Heavy mechanical repair, overhaul and refurbishment are carried out in our group workshop at Tiger Path Pte Ltd — in a controlled environment, under our own quality control, rather than subcontracted out and hoped for.

Engine & prime mover

Servicing, repair, overhaul and preventive maintenance, including component replacement and major repair works.

Diagnostics

Troubleshooting, diagnostics and preventive maintenance, so equipment stays reliable instead of being fixed reactively.

Onsite attendance

Technical attendance at your factory, plant or project site, in addition to workshop-based work.

Inspection & testing

Inspection, testing and commissioning support for mechanical systems.

Emergency response

Capability to respond to breakdowns and urgent repairs, with skilled manpower deployed as required.

Alongside our trading and industrial work, Southern King Trading has operated the Pyit Taing Htaung Minimart in Singapore since August 2020 as a complementary business line.

The shop carries authentic Myanmar food, beverages and daily essentials for the Myanmar community and local customers alike — snacks, groceries and popular food items, along with a selection of beer and beverages.

Freshly prepared Myanmar food is available in store, and frozen food is imported directly from Myanmar so that quality and authenticity hold all the way to the shelf.

Shipments arrive twice a week by air freight, every Wednesday and Friday. That schedule is how we keep supply consistent and the food fresh.

A business is part of the neighbourhood it trades in.

Since 2023 we have used our minimart in Jurong West as a platform for community support — sports sponsorship, free food distribution and donations to households in need, open to residents of every race, religion and background.

Jurong Spring Pickleball sponsorship & Satuditha food donation

Sponsored drinks and refreshments for the Jurong Spring Pickleball events, and were formally recognised by the organisers as a key supporter of the initiative. In April we prepared and distributed 150 cups of traditional Myanmar dessert free of charge at the minimart.

Myanmar New Year celebration & foam box reuse

Continued the sports sponsorship and took part in a Myanmar New Year community celebration. Insulated foam boxes from our overseas shipments were reused to transport beverages to the event — a practical waste reduction measure rather than a stated intention.

Organised a free community food distribution in front of the minimart during Myanmar New Year, and joined a donation drive supplying food items and daily essentials to low-income households at a nearby condominium.

Acted as main organiser for a community food distribution in Jurong West, coordinating volunteers and donors to serve residents from diverse nationalities and backgrounds.

Beyond one-off events, our family maintains recurring monthly donations to the Singapore Red Cross Society through Give.Asia — a standing commitment rather than a seasonal one.

Sustainability in practice

Online orders are consolidated into optimised island-wide delivery routes instead of separate trips per order, cutting vehicle journeys and emissions. Shipping foam boxes are reused rather than discarded. Both support Singapore's Green Plan 2030 aims at the scale a neighbourhood business can act on.
